Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We wanted a beautiful place that was close to our location. We also wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same location.

Relationship History:

We met 3 years ago online and talked for about 2 months before meeting in person. Then a little later we started dating, and now we are engaged!

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

I have not had a bad experience planning my wedding. I have enjoyed all of it!

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We wanted a beautiful place to have an outdoor wedding and the reception at the same location and that was a short distance for guests.

Relationship History:

We met in 2013 on a float trip through my work and shortly started dating after that! After many fun years of dating we got engaged, 7-1-18!

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

The best wedding planning experience was finding the perfect dress. The worst planning experience was picking out the wedding colors because the bride is color blind.

Why did you choose the Water's Edge for your wedding?

Jeff and I both love water so when we heard about Water’s Edge we knew we had to see it. When we toured the facility we both knew this was the place. The scenery is beautiful and it’s going to look amazing decorated for our Christmas wedding.

Relationship History:

Jeff and I met several years back when he walked into my place of employment. Small talk turned into friendship, friendship turned into a relationship, and the relationship is turning into marriage.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

The best wedding experience was by far the Water’s Edge, from having my endless questions answered by Amy to envisioning the way it will look all decorated for my Christmas wedding. I have loved planning this wedding so I don’t have a worst wedding experience.

Catch up with our brides as they share their stories and why they chose the Water's Edge for their wedding. They also share some of their best and worst wedding planning experiences.

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We loved the venue immediately. We had looked at a couple other places that were not a fit for us due to owners being rude, acting like they could care less about potential customers and a huge day in our life. Not at The Water's Edge!! She made us feel so welcome and has been SO awesome with everything with us. We couldn't be more thankful for a beautiful place and a smooth experience.

Relationship History:

After spending most of our lives with many mutual friends and seeing each other from across the room at parties, games, etc.. We decided to start talking and hanging out, not knowing we would be here nearly 3 years later, as parents of an amazing little boy and planning our forever. We are somewhere in between best friends and the same person.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Best would be deciding on our venue and colors. Worst would be having to wait to do and buy things because we are so excited!

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

It is beautiful out there, has everything anyone could want in one spot, and is very clean and very well maintained. It's the perfect location.

Relationship History:

We have been dating for 1 and a half years and been engaged for almost 1 year. I fell in love with her at first sight. God had us planned all along.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

The best wedding experience so far was the Water's Edge, we loved it from the start, it's perfect.
The worst was trying to find the right person to do our cake, but we found her, so we are all set!!

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We immediately feel in love with Water’s Edge when we toured it. The beautiful scenery, adorable cabin & the convenience of having everything in one location was just a few things that helped make our decision so much easier about where we would have our dream wedding.

Relationship History:

Bryce & I met 5 years ago while working together at Cape Girardeau Honda. What started off as being just friends quickly grew into our love story and we have been inseparable ever since.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

My best wedding experience so far was picking out my wedding dress and having some of my closest friends and family there with me. So far we’ve been blessed to not have had any real bad experiences and we hope that continues.

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We built a house in Gordonville and during the process I would always past the Water’s Edge and constantly tell Joseph, “One day I will get married there." I love the lights, the outdoors, and all the lakes! Its my dream spot.. and now its a dream come true.  💛

Relationship History:

Joseph and I met in high school. We were always friends. A year or so after we both graduated and were starting our lives we started hanging out again and then we never stopped. He became the best friend I always wanted. So now, here we are, 3 years later with a beautiful little girl. And lastly, getting to spend the rest of our lives with our best friends.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Best was getting my dress and taking our engagement pictures. Worst is trying to find bridesmaids dresses to satisfy all bridesmaids.
