Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We immediately feel in love with Water’s Edge when we toured it. The beautiful scenery, adorable cabin & the convenience of having everything in one location was just a few things that helped make our decision so much easier about where we would have our dream wedding.

Relationship History:

Bryce & I met 5 years ago while working together at Cape Girardeau Honda. What started off as being just friends quickly grew into our love story and we have been inseparable ever since.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

My best wedding experience so far was picking out my wedding dress and having some of my closest friends and family there with me. So far we’ve been blessed to not have had any real bad experiences and we hope that continues.

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We built a house in Gordonville and during the process I would always past the Water’s Edge and constantly tell Joseph, “One day I will get married there." I love the lights, the outdoors, and all the lakes! Its my dream spot.. and now its a dream come true.  💛

Relationship History:

Joseph and I met in high school. We were always friends. A year or so after we both graduated and were starting our lives we started hanging out again and then we never stopped. He became the best friend I always wanted. So now, here we are, 3 years later with a beautiful little girl. And lastly, getting to spend the rest of our lives with our best friends.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Best was getting my dress and taking our engagement pictures. Worst is trying to find bridesmaids dresses to satisfy all bridesmaids.

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

We loved the venue immediately. We had looked at a couple other places that were not a fit for us due to owners being rude, acting like they could care less about potential customers and a huge day in our life. Not at The Water's Edge!! She made us feel so welcome and has been SO awesome with everything with us. We couldn't be more thankful for a beautiful place and a smooth experience.

Relationship History:

After spending most of our lives with many mutual friends and seeing each other from across the room at parties, games, etc.. We decided to start talking and hanging out, not knowing we would be here nearly 3 years later, as parents of an amazing little boy and planning our forever. We are somewhere in between best friends and the same person.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Best would be deciding on our venue and colors. Worst would be having to wait to do and buy things because we are so excited!

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

The atmosphere is amazing, it is a perfect location for our perfect day!

Relationship History:

We have been together 5 years & have been inseperable since the first day he picked me up to go for a ride on his Harley, we actually met on facebook!

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Our best wedding planning experience has been at Water's Edge securing the perfect location for our day. The worst was dealing with our original venue location going out of business and not notifying us.

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

It’s the perfect place to host everything all at one place instead of multiple places.

Relationship History:

I was a usually at the gas station he worked at and we would always talk and I got brave enough to give him my number through my cousin and we started talking and became more than friends from there.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Our best planning experience we’ve had was viewing the Water’s Edge and getting to picture what our big day is going to look like. Planning to meet with people to get wedding stuff and them bailing on you.

Why did you choose the Water's Edge for your wedding?

We decided to pick the Water’s Edge because there's such beautiful scenery from the cabin to the lake. As a soon-to-be bride, I also feel like it is less stressful than some of the other places we considered. We will have plenty of time to set up the wedding and also to celebrate our big day with our family and friends.

Relationship History:

Brandon and I met at McDonald’s. We started off as friends, on and off between 2012-2013. We ended up taking our friendship to the next level and started dating in 2014. We have been best friends since day one, never left each other's side. Today, we have a one-year-old son that is such a blessing to both of us. We are getting closer and closer to the day we both say "I DO" and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with my crazy, lovable best friend. Thank you Brandon for always being there for me and our son, Benjamin, no matter what.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Best: Finding my dress + the bridesmaids' dresses. Having a wedding planner.

Worst: Having a fear that everything isn’t going to be ready since our life is so busy, but no matter how the wedding and set up goes, I am lucky to marry the love of my life.

Why did you choose the Water's Edge for your wedding?

Because it’s beautiful. A friend of mine had her wedding there and I was in it. Everything was so great. I also like the cabin to stay the weekend in! Having everything in one place makes it super convenient.

Relationship History:

Justin and I started dating in April of 2014. Funny story, we actually met at Mixing 10. He was with a mutual friend and I thought he was adorable. Then I saw him out again in the same place a couple weeks later and I got the courage to ask him if he was single. Yes I asked him. He then messaged me on Facebook a few weeks later and said since I asked him if he was single he was going to ask me.

Our first date was Mexican and going to see the movie Noah. I finally asked him if we were going to make it “official “ and he sent me flowers to work asking to check yes or no on being his girlfriend  and we’ve been together ever since. We decided to get married because we pretty much are already married. We have two kids, a house, and bills but we love each other and can’t see our lives with anyone else.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

Best:  Planning my getaway bachelorette party to Panama. Also decorating. I love picking out wedding decor.

Worst:  Figuring out how much everything costs! CRAZY

Catch up with our brides as they share their stories and why they chose the Water's Edge for their wedding. They also share some of their best and worst wedding planning experiences.

Why did you decide to get married at the Water's Edge?

It is beautiful out there, has everything anyone could want in one spot, and is very clean and very well maintained. It's the perfect location.

Relationship History:

We have been dating for 1 and a half years and been engaged for almost 1 year. I fell in love with her at first sight. God had us planned all along.

Best and Worst Wedding Planning Experience:

The best wedding experience so far was the Water's Edge, we loved it from the start, it's perfect.
The worst was trying to find the right person to do our cake, but we found her, so we are all set!!
